2019, 1st Quarter, Stick With It
The first quarter of the new year has flown by! Unfortunately, in all of the hurriedness of life, one thing that is often forgotten about this time of year: our resolutions. Many of us committed to eating better, exercising more, adding sleep and spending less. Myself included.
While the idea of making commitments is simple, enacting them can be quite challenging. We have to remind ourselves that successful improvement comes from making incremental changes, “run 10 more minutes”, “take the rest home for leftovers”. If we are consistent with these adjustments (I call them my non-negotiables), even if small, a huge amount of progress can be seen over the year.
I realized over the course of the last three months that this also applies to what we do at Monk FSG. Our clients sometimes become overwhelmed with the magnitude of the financial decisions they encounter. Things can appear complicated, create risk or require that multiple parties agree on difficult issues. Often indecision sets in and progress slows or grinds to a halt.
One of the key roles we play is to help our clients see the way forward. We have found that it often takes those small, incremental steps to get things moving again. In our case as a business we continue to push to improve the services we provide to our clients. Whether its investing in tools and resources to bring clearer, more timely ideas and strategies or give you better access to more critical documents that are presented in an organized and meaningful way. A major step in this process was creating our Private Client Portal which provides access to eMoney. While initial implementation began in 2018, we will continue to build upon this platform throughout the year. We look forward to hearing your feedback as it comes along.
My hope for you and your family is progress. Progress towards building the family and life you want while creating the legacy you wish to leave behind. Don’t forget that it’s not too late to take those small steps that bring about long-term success and lasting change.
As always, we are thankful for your continued support and are honored to serve you and your family.
